Supervisory Tamper Switch

A tamper switch is vital to security and safety systems and is designed to detect unauthorized access or interference with equipment, devices, or enclosures. Typically installed in security panels, access control systems, or fire alarm systems, tamper switches trigger an alarm or notification when someone attempts to tamper with or manipulate the protected area or device.

Tamper switches come in various forms, including lever-type, plunger, or magnetic switches. When properly installed, they detect any attempt to open, remove, or bypass protective covers or enclosures. For example, a tamper switch may be installed on the fire alarm control panel door in a fire alarm system. If someone tries to open the panel without authorization, the tamper switch activates, signalling a potential security breach.

By incorporating tamper switches into security and safety systems, businesses and organizations can enhance protection against unauthorized access or tampering, safeguard valuable assets and data, and ensure the integrity of critical systems. Regular testing and maintenance of tamper switches are essential to ensure they remain functional and reliable.
